Winter/Spring 2008 Arts Programs:
At Cherry Creek Creative Arts it is our philosophy that the fundamental educational aim of art is to help children increase their capacity to create meaning and to make sense of the world around them. To achieve this end our programs are planned so that students engage their natural interests, enhance their sense of competence, and enable them to reflect upon their experiences. It is the process of art that most important, not the product.
And let’s not forget to have to have lots of fun!
BEGINNING ARTISTS: (2-4 YEARS OLD, WITH ADULT PARTICIPATION)
Children are encouraged to express themselves by creating paintings, collages, sculptures, group murals, drawings, and prints. These classes provide developmentally appropriate experiences while exploring various media. Children leave the class feeling good about what they have created. Process, not product is stressed in these classes.
ARTS EXPRESS I: VISUAL ART SERIES (K, 1st 2nd)
In this class students will have fun exploring the wonderful world of art. Painting, drawing, sculpture, collages and printings are just a few of the fun and creative ways kids are introduced to the many valuable concepts of art. The focus of this class is to inspire children’s artistic impulses by using interesting materials and giving them freedom to experiment.
ARTS EXPRESS II: ART THROUGH THE AGES (3 rd, 4th, 5th)
Children will explore the components of art, broaden their artistic skills, and learn about famous artists. By working with color, shape, texture, design, and form the student will become familiar with a variety of materials. Students will have to opportunity to explore painting, printing, collage, sculpture, and drawing. Children are encouraged to explore and create art based on their own interests.

Summer Art Fun 2008 Offerings:
Come be a part of our first fun-filled artistic summer!
Our summer programs are a great way to have an educational and inspiring experience in a creative and nurturing environment.
Our Summer Art Camps are tailored for children grades K-5th.
Camps meet Monday-Friday for 3 hours (9am-12pm). Children are exposed to a variety of artisticmediums including painting, drawing, printing, clay and sculpture.
Each day focuses on two goals. First, being exposed to a variety of fun and interesting art materials and creating fun summer projects. Second, learning about famous artists and recreating some of their masterpieces with each child's unique insights and talents.
Our Beginning Artist classes are a great way for the little onese to learn about the wonderful world of art.
